What We Do…

Career Preperation

The Health Care Club, with guidance from the Fuqua Career Management Center puts on “Lifeline” recruiting sessions led by students with experience in the health care industry, to help guide our MBA students through their career recruiting journey. The “lifeline” sessions give MBA students the opportunity to share their diverse industry knowledge and experiences with their peers. These talks cover industry trends, share students’ internship or full-time experiences, and bring representatives from industry to share their own insights on best practices for the job search.

Social Events

The Health Care Club sponsors annual social events to promote networking not only amongst health care focused students, but also encourage networking with other health focused graduate programs at Duke University- including the medical , nursing , and public policy schools.

Events include renting out the patio picnic space for the Durham Bulls opening night game, wine and sip nights, and trips to local breweries.

Health Care Industry Education

The Health Care Club complements the Duke MBA Health Sector Management program by educating members on career opportunities and industry trends throughout all facets of the health sector including the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, provider, payer, managed care, technology, and consulting industries. The club also provides a forum for individuals to interact with industry professionals and alumni from prominent health care organizations, as well as the health care community in the greater RTP area.

Traditionally, the Health Care Club has also planned and sponsored a “Week-In-Cities” trip where students travel to another U.S. city (Boston, NYC, San Francisco) and visit local health care focused companies.
