The Duke MBA Health Care program is ranked globally as one of the top health sector-focused management programs in the world. The program is facilitated by three groups that work diligently to coordinate programming and career opportunities for students:

  1. Duke MBA Healthcare Club (HCC)

  2. The Center for Health Sector Management (HSM)

  3. Career Management Center (CMC)

HSM

  • Shapes overall direction of health care program within Fuqua

  • Responsible for academic curriculum oversight, including HSM Bootcamp and Seminar

  • Develops strategic relationships (e.g. DC Health Policy Center) to support student professional development

HCC

  • Organizes and executes a series of student-driven events, including the Duke MBA Health Care Conference

  • Creates networking opportunities for Fuqua students interested in health care

  • Provides leadership opportunities for Fuqua students (FY & SY club and cabinet positions)

  • Partners with other Fuqua clubs to offer health care programming

CMC

  • Provides support in the overall job search process, including negotiation and ongoing career management

  • Builds and maintains relationships with health care organizations and alumni to provide students with a wide array of opportunities

  • Manages corporate presentations, career fairs, and other on-campus recruiting events


HCC and HSM collaborate to:

  • Maintain and build relationships with greater Duke Community (Global Health Initiative, Duke Hospital)

  • Coordinate and interface with the Health Care Alumni Advisory Board (HCAAB)

HCC & CMC collaborate to:

  • Co-host Health Care Career Intensive for all First Year Students to learn about MBA opportunities, roles and responsibilities

  • Develop corporate partnerships to support events, presentations, and on-site visits
